Admission to the First year (Part-1) and the Third year opens after the declaration of the federal Board results. exact dates of admission are notified through the national press. Second shift for first year (Part-1) (Pre-Engineering, pre-Medical & Science General Group only) was started in 1990. Students residing in Rawalpindi Cannt only can apply for admission in both shifts.

Admission of a candidate is subject to eligibility and priorties and policies laid down by the FGEI Directorate. No domicile certificates is required for admission to the college. Foreign students should apply through the MInistry of Education, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad, and submit "Equivalence Certificate" from the Ministry for the academic qualification attained by them in the country of their origin.
